Under the Influence

On the slim chance that anyone reads this blog outside the realm of Flamingo Road Church...I must take a second and explain the title of this post. I am the media pastor at Flamingo Road Church in Cooper City, FL. We have the opportunity each week to have a TV show "Influence" on WSVN @ 11:30AM. It is my ministry to produce the show.

This week's show is a rerun. Well...check that... and encore performance of the second part of the Question and Answer series. For those of you that have seen it already...it is the one where Pastor Troy opens the beer onstage. I will never forget the sound of the auditorium when he did that. I just wish I could have watched Pastor Allen tiptoe around Publix when he bought it to bring to church that weekend.

Some really powerful stuff in that show. I just wish you all could realize the amount of joy that I find each week in producing the program. During last week's meet and greet at the church, I met several people who had their first touch with Flamingo Road Church through the show. I know it sounds like pride in that last statement. Believe me when I say that it truly isn't. I'm not sure how I got to this point as the TV producer and media pastor. I'm just glad that God picked me to be a part of His plan.

This Weekend

Well...it was only a matter of time. I have decided to claim my small corner of the internet. I'll probably muse on such topics as media and church...my almost fanatical fascination with Walt Disney World...pez dispensers...the Minnesota Vikings...my Cingular 8125...Apple Computers... my favorite flavor of licorice...basically anything that falls out of my head.

This is probably just an exercise in entertaining myself...

Anyway, this weekend I have the blessed opportunity to teach at the Cooper City Campus. I am both excited and nervous (as usual). You'd think with as many times as I have done this, I wouldn't be nervous. It really doesn't help to have Ernesto breathing down my neck. We're going to talk about the 2nd law of thermodynamics and how it relates to our lives. I know it doesn't sound thrilling, but I hope to make it interesting and applicable.
